Sogole, this was SO good! I think it’s the Chloe/Boho impact, too! I think this dusty shade will stick around for awhile, I love it, and I love this deep dive series!

Came to the comments section to say the same thing, Lindsay!

Thanks Lindsay! You’re so right in that the overall Chloe effect has impacted us all, and other designers are not immune. In general I am here for the softening of fashion in 2025- it’s a fun new way to think about getting dressed after years of a more sharp, severe look! 💗

I love that THAT phenomenon has a name— I never knew!! I’m feeling the strong pull toward pink, too. I have a roll of pink/mauve velvet ribbon in a drawer and I kinda just want that vibe everywhere lately. This post will help me translate more practically. 🩷💗💞

I didn’t know it had a name either until I was researching for this post lol but yes it’s wild how crazy it can be to suddenly feel inundated with something - but with powder pink, I’ll take it! That ribbon sounds divine - velvet is also having a moment! Thanks for reading Jennifer! Xx

I absolutely love this piece. It was so fun to read and I’m curious to see the next color story in fashion.

Also, happy to see pale pink trending! I have a gorgeous light pink cropped jacket from rag & bone that I love to wear but don’t wear often enough that will be perfect for this spring. I had a pale pink trouser as well that I let go of last year because I wasn’t loving the fit. Now is the perfect time to replace them.

Thank you Robyn! I love when color trends can inspire us to pull out older pieces in our wardrobes and reconsider them- like the absolute best case scenario of shopping our closets and giving new life to old pieces!

Sogole! On Saturday mornings I tuck in to read my newsletters and this one was a true work of heart!! I have revisited that Devil Wears Prada quote many times because I find it fascinating the way color trends percolate down to the layperson. I do think that when you are even vaguely interested in fashion you can find yourself drawn to a color (like you with The Row trousers) because of conditioning. At any rate, I am very into this powder pink because it’s innately feminine and that’s something I find myself drawn to (see my inexplicable love of Doen).

Thanks Kelly! Means soooo much coming from you! I am so excited to see how people interpret this color trend this Spring because it’s such an interesting one that allows for so much personal interpretation. I love that it’s fluid to several different shades- something for everyone! Thank you so much for reading 🩷

I’m catching up on newsletters this morning and I saw this and then Becky Malinsky wearing a pair of powdery pink Kallemyer pants in her letter. The trend is trending!

Love this so much!!! Feel the exact same about this color. Had the same feeling as your The Row pants with the JW Anderson look from last season. Now on sale but still not deep enough to pull the trigger!

Also learned this phenomenon was a real thing and had a name!!

Thank you! It really is such a wearable color- I’d argue almost a neutral in some ways! 💗

Your reference to Barbie-mania made me smile - I was at a lunch event spring 2023 and out of the eight women there I was the only one not wearing bright pink :) I'm partial to Coloro's color forecasting and one of their 2025 key colors is Transcendent Pink for its comforting nature in the midst of a polycrisis (hence Pantone's Mocha Mousse). Love these softer, more neutral pinks over the saturated Barbie/Pink PP's from the last couple of years.

Thanks Tina! I hadn’t heard of Coloro before and I’m so glad you mentioned this bc I just Googled their Transcendent Pink and IT IS SPOT ON! I am excited for the softer take on color in general we will be seeing this year. Much more wearable IMO!

Yes, soooo much more wearable! I'm not as drawn to pinks, but feeling inspired by the gorgeous visuals that you created.

I love this article and your deep dive; thank you! I had a color analysis done by a woman in LA which informed me that I am a dusty rose summer after being told I was a winter (from those parties in the 80's that everyone did). Color is so interesting and I have done a deep dive into my wardrobe and purging all of the black after learning I shouldn't be wearing it. TG I can still wear certain pinks, as I find them super flattering. It's definitely a tone thing! Also pink looks fabulous with mocha mousse!

Thanks Leslie! I am so glad this resonated and I agree color can be so powerful and inspiring when getting dressed. And lol you’re SO RIGHT this shade of pink pairs gorgeously with Mocha Mousse- an overall soft vibe is what we are all leaning towards!
