Thinking of you and your friends out in California. Can't imagine what everyone is going through - glad to hear you and your family are safe! Thanks for the mention! You know I'm all about paring it back, and I love your dry January reference as it relates to getting dressed. Also agree with you on Sade - LOVE her. She is forever the soundtrack to my life, and I'll be anxiously awaiting your post on her style. Sending lots of love. x

Thank you Maria! We are so lucky to be safe and sound but staying vigilant as honestly anything can change while this crazy weather is still here. I am so happy I was able to throw myself into writing this post as I definitely needed the distraction! And I am so glad to hear you’re a fellow Sade lover! I’m definitely noodling a post on her xx

Agree with everyone here. So glad you are safe, and thank you for writing this so we could collectively be sad *and* distract ourselves and find the small joys to lift us up.

While my mind has been overwhelmed with the news out of LA, I am also grateful for a place to come and think about other things. I actually think your piece was perfect since we are all probably craving comfort in the face of tragedy too. I know I need comfort for the impending election.

Anywhoooooo, I loved your tips; especially the color story one!! I love a good aesthetic and this is like a mini aesthetic. I think about how Taylor Swift seems to have a dominant color for each album that she releases, and having a color story for a week would be like that on a small scale!

Thanks so much Kelly. Honestly SS is the only form of media I can muster consuming right now. It’s been helpful to read something distracting. And comfort is exactly what we all need right now! Be it clothing, a hug, or a giant slice of chocolate cake (yes I’m eating my feelings…) 🍰

I'm glad you and your family are ok, and I am so so sorry. As a forever Floridian I know the heartache of seeing your beloved landmarks, people and memories irrevocably changed by natural disasters. It is deeply personal and traumatic. I am glad you decided to send out a newsletter today. I agree it helps to be a light! And I LOVE the idea that comfortable items need to be "good." I'm taking this into my week. Xo

Thanks Jen! It’s so hard to know what to do but writing always is like therapy to me. Especially when discussing a more easy laid back take on dressing which I think we ALL could use right now! ❤️
